It all began with a simple dream: to bring the freshest seafood from the coast to the heart of London. In 2009, our founder Marco Rossi opened the doors of Mare Fresco in Soho, determined to create a place where every guest could experience the true taste of the sea.

Growing up in a small fishing village on the Italian coast, Marco learned the art of selecting the finest catch from his father and grandfather. This knowledge, passed down through generations, forms the foundation of everything we do at Mare Fresco.

Today, we continue this tradition, combining the wisdom of the old ways with modern culinary techniques, always staying true to our core belief: the best seafood needs only the freshest ingredients and the simplest preparation to shine.

Every morning before dawn, while the city still sleeps, our trusted fishermen set out on the waters. Their boats, like the one pictured here, have been part of our family for generations – a living connection to the sea that feeds us all.

The catch arrives at our restaurant within hours of leaving the water. No frozen fish, no long supply chains – just the freshest seafood, handled with care every step of the way.

With over 25 years of experience in Mediterranean cuisine, Marco brings his Italian heritage and passion for seafood to every dish he creates.

Antonio Ferrara

Sous Chef

Antonio trained in Naples and specialises in traditional southern Italian seafood dishes. His pasta with frutti di mare is legendary among our regulars.

Pierre Dubois

Fish Chef

Pierre brings French finesse to our kitchen. His expert knife skills and knowledge of fish preparation ensure every fillet is perfect.
